These days, it seems the traditional headshot is starting to make a shift towards the personal branding direction and you don’t want to be left behind.

What is a Personal Branding Portrait?

This type of photography is different than a classic headshot because it encompasses more than just head and shoulders—it showcases the personality and uniqueness of you and can be done either in a studio or on location. By having these portraits in your marketing tool box, you can easily update your bio photo and also add key images to help market your brand. With a personal branding session, most clients find they select upwards of 15 – 20 favorite final images.

At the conclusion of the session, clients often say how great the session was and how happy they are with their images. We are professionals and having been photographing C Suite professionals, senior leadership, entrepreneurs, business owners, professional influencers, well over 20 years. We have the knowledge and skill in photography and also the communication skills to help you pose naturally so your session is streamlined and efficient.

Many of our clients, especially the C-suites, arrive for their session and have to be done within 1 hour or less.

What type of clothing do I bring?

We will consult with you on your attire for your contemporary personal branding business portrait. A good rule of thumb is to stick to timeless and classic clothing that you feel confident in. Formfitting outfits tend to be more flattering than loose or baggy clothing.

We always recommend that clients bring with them several outfits to choose from; think 6 or so looks. We can look at your wardrobe with you and select the best outfit for your portraits. Solid colored clothing is always best for a portrait.

For men, you can add a pop of color with a tie or a pocket square.  For the ladies a colored shell is an option with jewelry as an accent to the overall portrait. We have clothing tips on our site here .

For 3/4 length portraits we recommend that you try on your clothes and make sure they fit properly before your session. If your clothes do not fit well, or if they are snug, it will show in your portrait. Make sure you are confident in the attire you select and that all clothing is pressed.

For ladies, we have several make up artists that can take care of your hair and makeup in our studio. Many of our clients opt to have their hair and makeup professionally done for their portrait sessions. Please inquire about this before your session.

At the conclusion of your business portrait session, we will review all the images captured and help you with final image selections.
